A Baton Rouge family is searching for answers after a father’s suspicions led to a discovery inside his daughter’s home.
The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Faun Reese.
She was found dead on Tuesday afternoon at her residence on Cypress Road in Baton Rouge.
Her father, Ronnie Reese, said his concerns began over activity involving her telephone.
Ronnie learned that Faun’s live-in boyfriend was reportedly calling other people using Faun’s phone.
That report immediately troubled her father.
“A red flag went up,” Ronnie said.
He reached out directly to law enforcement.
Ronnie contacted Baton Rouge Police and requested a welfare check on his daughter.
According to Ronnie, police officers initially went to the Cypress Road residence.
Officers reported that no one answered the door during that first visit.
But Ronnie remained concerned about Faun.
He later returned to the Cypress Road residence accompanied by police.
Upon entering the home, authorities discovered Faun dead inside.
She was found with what appeared to be stab wounds.
Her live-in boyfriend was also located inside the residence.

He was alive when officers arrived.
The boyfriend was reportedly in serious medical condition.
Ronnie described what he saw inside the home bluntly.
He said the man was “foaming at the mouth” and appeared as though he may have overdosed.
Emergency medical personnel transported the boyfriend from the scene to a local hospital.
At the hospital, the boyfriend remained in serious condition.
A friend was also present as the situation unfolded at the residence.
That friend reportedly cried out, “She’s gone.”
Investigators have acknowledged that Faun and her boyfriend had experienced “troubles” during their multi-year relationship.
Yet authorities have not announced that the boyfriend is responsible for her death.
No arrests have been made in the case.
Investigators have not publicly disclosed what they believe happened inside the Cypress Road residence.
They have also not disclosed what caused the medical emergency that left the boyfriend in serious condition.
In the wake of the discovery, Faun’s family is questioning the circumstances surrounding the initial welfare check.
The family is questioning whether her death might have been discovered sooner after her father first raised concerns with police.
Faun Reese’s death remains under investigation by law enforcement.
