“I NEVER RESTRICTED THEIR FOOD”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY TONI HAMMONDS STARVED FOUR OF HER CHILDREN IN WISCONSIN… AND A NATIONWIDE BENCH WARRANT HAS NOW BEEN ISSUED AFTER SHE FAILED TO SHOW UP FOR SENTENCING.
On October 3, 2024, an investigation began after school employees reported four malnourished children in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
The four children were living with their biological mother, Toni Hammonds, and stepparent Mary “Bentley” Oram.
School employees were the ones who noticed the children and spoke up.
When authorities went to the home, Hammonds denied any food restrictions.
Medical staff subsequently examined all four children.
Doctors reported that all four of the children needed medical treatment for malnourishment.
A doctor said their weight loss suggested starvation rather than a medical cause.
According to the criminal complaint, the children later disclosed physical abuse during forensic interviews.
Hammonds initially faced eight felony charges in Eau Claire County.
Those original charges included four counts of causing mental harm to a child.
On May 4, 2026, Hammonds entered a plea in court.
She pleaded no contest to four counts of chronic neglect causing bodily harm as party to a crime.
The court found Hammonds guilty of the four felony counts of chronic child neglect.

The other four counts of causing mental harm to a child were dismissed but read in for sentencing.
Oram originally faced 12 charges in connection with the investigation.
The charges against Oram included four counts of intentionally causing bodily harm to a child.
Then Oram entered a plea of no contest to four chronic neglect counts.
A judge sentenced Oram to four years and six months in prison.
The judge also ordered Oram to serve five years of extended supervision.
Hammonds was scheduled to appear in court for her sentencing on August 28.
Her defense attorney told the court he had been in periodic contact with her during the previous week.
But Hammonds never appeared for the hearing.
The judge revoked her bond.
The judge then issued a nationwide bench warrant for her arrest.
All four children required medical care.
Hammonds was found guilty.
She did not show up to hear her sentence.
