“SHE JUST FELL OUT”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY A VIRGINIA MAN ABDUCTED A WOMAN WHO FELL FROM HIS MOVING TRUCK AND WAS RUN OVER BY THE TIRES… AND HE IS NOW HELD WITHOUT BOND ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES.
A 48-year-old Wytheville man is facing additional felony charges following an investigation by local police.
On Aug. 18, officers responded to multiple emergency calls regarding an incident on Old Stage Road.
Callers reported that a person had fallen from a truck.
Police said a woman fell from the moving truck during the incident.
The vehicle’s rear tires then ran over her.
She suffered severe injuries.
Emergency medical personnel had the woman flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Police later arrested 48-year-old Stanley Jason Smith on unrelated weapons charges.

Then investigators continued their inquiry into the incident involving the truck.
Following that continued investigation, investigators obtained felony warrants charging Smith in connection with the case.
Authorities charged him with abduction.
They also charged him with aggravated malicious wounding.
An Emergency Protective Order was also obtained on behalf of the woman.
But police have not yet publicly detailed exactly what allegedly happened inside the truck before the woman fell.
Smith’s bond has since been revoked.
He remains held without bond.
He is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
