New testimony presented in court has revealed fresh details about the killings of three people inside a residence in Jackson, Mississippi.
The victims were identified as two-year-old Camari Givens, his 25-year-old mother, Keyana Weathersby, and his 30-year-old aunt, Erica Weathersby.
At the center of the recent court proceedings is 26-year-old Mikala Young.
Young maintains that she had no knowledge of any planned robbery and took no part in the homicides.
According to investigators with the Jackson Police Department, four suspects initially traveled together to a house located on Queen Alexandria Lane.
Investigators allege the group traveled to the residence with the intention of purchasing marijuana from Camdarian Givens, the father of two-year-old Camari Givens.
Police say the suspects learned that Camdarian Givens had recently won a large sum of money.
Authorities also noted that the suspects learned Givens was selling marijuana.
But investigators allege the underlying purpose of the trip changed once that information was obtained.
Authorities allege that what was initially planned as a drug transaction became a plot to commit a robbery.
According to investigators, Camdarian Givens walked outside of the house upon their arrival.
At that point, Cornelius Carter and Devone Modacure allegedly opened fire on him.
Camdarian Givens was able to get away from the gunfire.
He hid behind a neighboring home to escape the shooting.
Then, according to detectives, Carter and Modacure went inside the residence on Queen Alexandria Lane.
Three people remained inside the home when the men entered.
Those occupants were two-year-old Camari, his mother Keyana Weathersby, and her sister Erica Weathersby.
Police allege that Carter and Modacure fatally shot all three victims inside the house.
Investigators state that Young remained inside the vehicle while the shooting occurred.

Another suspect, 28-year-old Jordan Carter, also allegedly stayed inside the car while the violence took place inside the home.
Investigators allege that Young drove the vehicle away from the scene after gunshots were heard.
Police further allege that roughly two pounds of marijuana were stolen from the Queen Alexandria Lane residence during the incident.
Authorities say that stolen marijuana was later split up among the suspects.
Yet Young’s legal defense has offered a completely different version of what occurred and what she understood was happening.
Young denies that she had any knowledge of an intended robbery or an impending homicide.
Her defense attorney told the court that Young believed she was merely providing transportation for the men so they could purchase marijuana.
Her attorney also argued that Young did not flee or drive away sooner because she was allegedly being held against her will.
A judge considered the arguments and denied Young bond for a second time.
Young spoke out directly to members of the media as she was escorted out of the courtroom.
“I’m innocent, I ain’t kill nobody,” Young said to reporters.
Young additionally accused Cornelius Carter and a person she named only as “Bunny” of carrying out the homicides.
She did not provide any further details regarding the identity of “Bunny.”
Cornelius Carter, 28, has also been arrested on capital murder charges in connection with the triple homicide.
Jordan Carter, 28, has likewise been taken into custody on capital murder charges.
Both Cornelius Carter and Jordan Carter have been denied bond by the court.
The case against Young is now scheduled to be presented before a Hinds County grand jury.
The grand jury will review the evidence to determine whether prosecutors have established sufficient grounds to indict her and proceed toward trial.
Investigators’ accounts regarding the alleged robbery and Young’s role reflect the prosecution’s claims.
Young continues to assert that she knew nothing about the alleged robbery plan and had no role in any of the killings.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
