A Cave City man is in custody following a criminal investigation that stretched across several months.
Police say the months-long inquiry linked him to multiple burglaries and thefts committed between March and August.
Eric Hillirech is accused of stealing numerous tools from a new construction home on Meadowlane Drive.
He is also accused of entering other outbuildings located in that same neighborhood.
Officers described the inquiry leading up to the charges as a lengthy investigation.
Following that work, officers presented the evidence in the case before a grand jury.
That presentation allowed them to secure an indictment warrant against him.
Then, on Aug. 29, officers spotted Hillirech riding a bicycle near South Dixie Lakeway.
Officers took him into custody.

Investigators said they were also able to recover multiple stolen items from a pawn shop.
And the grand jury indictment has now left Hillirech facing five separate counts.
He faces one count of second-degree burglary.
He faces one count of first-degree criminal mischief.
He faces one count of theft by unlawful taking between $1,000 and $10,000.
He faces one count of second-degree criminal mischief.
He faces one count of first-degree persistent felony offender.
That persistent felony offender charge indicates that prosecutors are relying on prior qualifying felony history in pursuing the case against him.
Hillirech is charged, not convicted.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
