“I DID NOT SEE ANYONE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PROSECUTORS SAY TALISHA MOORE-REAL DELIBERATELY AIMED HER RENTAL CAR AT A WOMAN AND RAN HER OVER OUTSIDE A DECATUR MOTEL… AND SHE HAS NOW BEEN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON PLUS AN ADDITIONAL 10 YEARS.
On September 29, 2025, police officers responded to an emergency call at a motel in Decatur, Georgia.
The call came in at around 10:40 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Flat Shoals Road.
A woman had been struck and run over by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman receiving emergency medical treatment.
She was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
She died at the hospital the following day.
Officials identified the victim as 47-year-old LaQuita J. Baker.
Investigators said the incident began with an argument over a man.
Baker’s daughter and then-34-year-old Talisha Moore-Real had both dated him.
During the confrontation, Moore-Real intentionally rammed a vehicle belonging to one of Baker’s relatives.
Moore-Real then drove away from the motel.
But she did not stay away.
Moore-Real later returned to the motel.
She argued with her former boyfriend on the property.
Moore-Real attempted to drive away from the motel a second time.
As she drove away, the man fired shots at her rental car.
Moore-Real called 911.
She reported to authorities that someone had fired at her vehicle.
Then, approximately six minutes later, investigators said Moore-Real returned to the motel again.
Baker was standing outside the motel with her daughter.
A 17-year-old relative was standing outside with them.
Moore-Real drove the vehicle toward the group.
Prosecutors said Baker attempted to move out of the way.
But prosecutors said Moore-Real aimed the vehicle directly at her.

The vehicle struck Baker.
Moore-Real ran over her.
Moore-Real then left the scene.
Baker died on September 30, 2025.
A witness photographed the license plate on Moore-Real’s rental car.
That photograph allowed investigators to trace the vehicle.
Investigators traced it to a rental company at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Detectives located the rental car.
By the time they found it, Moore-Real had already returned it to the company.
Investigators also gathered surveillance footage from the area.
Footage was obtained from the motel.
Detectives also recovered footage from a nearby gas station.
That surveillance video captured the fatal collision.
Moore-Real later spoke with investigators.
She told investigators she did not see anyone in front of the vehicle.
She claimed she did not intend to hit anyone.
Prosecutors said the surveillance footage contradicted her account.
On October 2, 2025, Moore-Real was arrested.
Police took her into custody at a gas station on Old National Highway in Atlanta, Georgia.
On August 7, 2026, a DeKalb County jury reached a verdict.
The jury found 35-year-old Moore-Real guilty of malice murder.
Jurors also convicted her of felony murder.
She was found guilty of three counts of aggravated assault.
The jury convicted her of first-degree cruelty to children.
On September 1, 2026, Moore-Real was sentenced.
The court sentenced her to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
She received an additional 10 years.
