A 35-year-old suspect and an accomplice allegedly robbed a man who stopped to help them before throwing him from a moving SUV, police said.
Investigators identified the suspects as 35-year-old Jose Esparza-Becerra and 37-year-old Juan Torres, according to police.
On August 31, 2026, the victim stopped in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after noticing an SUV and believing its occupants had run out of gas, police said.
The man stopped to see if the occupants needed help, investigators said. Instead, the two men allegedly threatened him and ordered him to get inside their vehicle, police said.
The men demanded money and assaulted the victim, investigators said.
As the SUV drove away, the victim was allegedly thrown from the vehicle onto the roadway, police said.

A witness reported seeing the victim being thrown from the moving SUV near the 6100 block of North Rockford Avenue, authorities said.
The victim suffered a fractured foot after being thrown from the vehicle, police said.
Authorities later received an alert from a license plate reader that helped Tulsa police locate the suspects’ vehicle, police said.
Tulsa police detained the two men until deputies arrived, authorities said.
Both suspects were arrested on charges of armed robbery and assault and battery with a deadly weapon, police said.
Esparza-Becerra and Torres remained in the Tulsa County Jail with immigration holds, records show.
