A Las Vegas man allegedly killed his partner and her two children inside an apartment after an argument over suspected infidelity, according to authorities.
Juan Carlos Orona, 29, of Las Vegas, is accused of fatally attacking his partner, Nohani Flores-Osuna, along with her two children, police said.
Flores-Osuna died alongside her 16-year-old daughter and another school-aged child inside the residence, according to the arrest report.
Orona had become suspicious that his partner was still romantically involved with a former partner, the report stated.
The suspect told detectives that he confronted her inside the apartment over those suspicions, according to police.
Flores-Osuna allegedly admitted to the infidelity during the encounter, according to Orona’s account to investigators.
The victim then allegedly told him that her ex “was better in bed,” the suspect told police.
Hearing that comparison triggered what Orona described to police as a “mental blackout,” according to the arrest report.
When he became aware of his surroundings again, the defendant was holding a 9 mm Glock, he allegedly told detectives.
Flores-Osuna and her two children were dead inside the residence, police said.
Investigators subsequently recovered 10 shell casings from inside the apartment, according to authorities.
Orona allegedly did not deny firing the weapon during questioning. However, he claimed he could not remember which victim he attacked first, the arrest report states.
The suspect further claimed he could not recall exactly how the sequence of events unfolded, police said.
Hours after the three deaths, Orona went to police accompanied by his father and brother and surrendered, authorities said.
The 29-year-old faces three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon, prosecutors said.
Orona is also charged with 10 counts of discharging a firearm within an occupied structure, according to court documents.
Orona remains in custody as the criminal case proceeds, according to authorities.
