Memphis woman Brianna Moore, 24, attacked outside police precinct allegedly pulled gun from her bra and shot boyfriend

A Memphis woman shot her boyfriend outside a police precinct after he assaulted her during an exchange of house keys, police said.

Brianna Moore, 24, was taken into custody outside the department precinct following the gunfire, according to investigators.

On September 6, 2026, officers heard multiple gunshots outside the Austin Peay precinct at 4:30 p.m., police said.

A witness ran inside the building immediately after the shots were fired to report that a man had been shot, according to investigators.

The shooting occurred outside the precinct after the victim met with Moore so she could return his house key, police said.

A silver Honda pulled up near a black Nissan before Moore stepped out of the passenger side, a witness told police.

The woman then walked toward the Nissan to hand over her boyfriend’s key, according to investigators.

A witness told police the victim hit Moore in the back of the head, knocking her glasses off. The man stepped on her glasses and began moving toward her again, the witness said.

Moore allegedly pulled a black handgun from her bra and shot him several times, according to investigators.

One of the bullets traveled through the front window of the precinct while multiple officers were inside, police said.

Moore allegedly returned to the silver Honda following the shooting, police said. The wounded man got back into his own vehicle and left the area, according to investigators.

Officers were able to stop the Honda in the precinct parking lot before it left, investigators said.

Police detained two women who were inside the stopped vehicle, according to investigators.

The victim later arrived at Methodist North Hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to both legs, police said.

He was transferred to another area of the hospital and listed in critical condition, according to investigators.

The victim initially told police an unknown person had attempted to carjack him and shot him, investigators said. His account later changed, according to police.

The man eventually acknowledged that he had arranged to meet Moore at the police station to retrieve his house key, police said. He told investigators that after receiving the key, he got out of his vehicle and tried to grab Moore before she shot him.

A witness separately described seeing the victim strike Moore before the shooting, according to investigators.

Moore was later identified in a photographic lineup as the woman who fired the shots, police said.

During the investigation, officers executed a search warrant and recovered a black Taurus G3C 9mm handgun from the front seat of the Honda, police said.

Moore admitted shooting her boyfriend after he assaulted her, according to police.

The defendant was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, domestic assault involving bodily harm and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, police said.

Her bond had not been set as of the latest available information, according to records.
