Below Deck star Nathan Gallagher convicted of three domestic violence offenses — after skipping Sydney court on choking charges

A 28-year-old reality television personality was convicted of three domestic violence offenses after failing to appear in an Australian courtroom, according to court records.

Nathan Gallagher, 28, worked on the Bravo charter yacht reality series Below Deck Mediterranean.

The former deckhand began dating co-star Gael Cameron in 2024 after meeting during season 9 of the charter yacht series, according to reports.

The former couple shares a 14-month-old son named Kayden, reports show.

Gallagher was arrested in 2025 following a domestic violence incident, according to a police memo.

The defendant was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault, police records state.

Neither party sustained injuries during the encounter, according to a police report obtained by Us.

Gallagher was eventually granted conditional bail, records show.

Filings do not indicate how the defendant pleaded to the domestic violence charges, according to court records.

Cameron, 30, filed an Apprehended Violence Application against Gallagher in Australia in December 2025, according to court filings confirmed by Us.

An Apprehended Violence Order protects an individual from someone who makes them fear violence, intimidation, harassment, or stalking, according to the New South Wales government website.

On Tuesday, September 1, Gallagher was convicted of three domestic violence offenses after failing to appear in a Sydney courtroom, according to records viewed by News 24.

Gallagher broke his silence surrounding his arrest in an August 26 statement, according to Rolling Stone.

The statement confirmed that Cameron and the reality personality had quietly split, according to the outlet.

“I’m not claiming I was perfect,” Gallagher said in the statement.

“I wasn’t,” the former television personality acknowledged in the statement.

“I made mistakes and I will take responsibility for my own actions,” Gallagher said. But the reality star added that he would “not accept being portrayed solely through one person’s account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it.”

Gallagher maintained that he preserved documentation from the encounter, according to the statement.

“I have contemporaneous video footage from the night in question, as well as messages and other records, which I believe provide important context,” Gallagher said.

The television personality asserted that other unresolved matters remained between the former partners, according to the statement.

“There are also other matters surrounding the relationship that I have never discussed publicly, including circumstances surrounding the breakdown of our relationship, previous allegations she made about a former partner and financial matters relating to the purchase of an apartment in Sydney,” the statement read.

Gallagher stated that his primary concern was his relationship with his child, according to the release.

“My priority is being recognized as [Kayden’s] father, establishing a relationship with him and ultimately finding a way for both of us to move forward and coparent peacefully,” Gallagher said.

“I’m not looking for revenge, and not asking anyone to take my side,” he stated. “I simply want the opportunity for the other side to be heard and for the evidence to be considered.”

Cameron addressed the arrest publicly for the first time on Saturday, September 5, according to her Instagram Stories.

“Hey guys, I just want to say thank you so much for the support you’ve shown for Kayden and I,” Cameron wrote.

“It’s been a tough season, but I have been using the past few months to quietly heal and rebuild for little man and myself,” she stated.

“I really appreciate the love you have sent our way, especially while everything that’s come to light, and I’m really working on finding myself again and moving forward,” Cameron wrote.

On Sunday, September 6, Cameron shared four photographs featuring herself and her son in the surf, according to an Instagram post with disabled comments.

The images showed a smiling Cameron in a bikini holding the boy in crystal-clear water, according to the post.

Cameron noted that the photos were taken following the arrest of her former partner, writing: “@seathroughthelensphotography you are a legend and [a] half for capturing these in the middle of winter for bub’s first birthday.”

“I’ve been sitting here trying to find the perfect quote to encapsulate this photo, but I realized there isn’t one,” Cameron captioned the post. “Just the water and him.”

“Two things that can get me through absolutely anything in this life,” she continued.

“In this moment I feel happy again 🩵,” Cameron concluded.
