A Metro Detroit mother is facing multiple felony charges after an investigation uncovered alleged trafficking-related activity across several area communities, police said.
Maya Scott Perry is a resident of Madison Heights.
Her own child was present while some of that activity was allegedly happening, investigators said.
The child was not allegedly involved in the trafficking activity and was not harmed. The youth is now safe with a custodial parent, police said.
The investigation uncovered alleged activity that stretched across Madison Heights, Royal Oak, Southfield and Warren, authorities said.
Authorities have identified at least one woman they believe was trafficked by the suspect, police said.
On June 17, officers arrested Perry following the multi-city investigation, according to authorities.

The defendant faces a total of six charges, police said.
Those counts include offenses related to human trafficking, prostitution, distributing an unclothed image of another person and allegedly filing a false felony report, authorities said.
Perry also faces a misdemeanor charge of child abuse, according to police.
On September 9, the accused was arraigned on the charges, court records show.
She received a $250,000 cash or surety bond, according to officials.
Investigators do not believe their inquiry necessarily ends with the single woman already identified. Police are asking anyone else who believes they may have been victimized by Perry to come forward, authorities said.
Perry stands accused and has not been convicted, records note.
Her probable-cause conference is scheduled for September 18.
