Fox Lake mom Pricilla Marshall jailed after son, 11, found bloodied in underwear — with dish soap allegedly poured in his ears

A Fox Lake mother and her boyfriend were arrested after an 11-year-old boy was found bloodied in his underwear, police said.

Pricilla Marshall, 34, and Cody Marion, 35, both live in Fox Lake, Illinois.

The boy was spotted around 9:30 a.m. on a Friday near Nippersink Boulevard and Grand Avenue, police said.

An employee at a nearby business found the child wearing only underwear. His face was bloodied, and his body was covered in welts, bruises, and scratches, according to police.

The employee called police.

Responding officers took the 11-year-old into protective custody, police said.

He was brought to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital to be checked out, according to police.

From the hospital, officers went to the home and took Marshall into custody, police said. Inside the residence, two younger children, ages 1 and 2, were found safe.

Two other school-age brothers also lived in the home, authorities said.

All five children were taken to the Lake County Child Advocacy Center for medical checks and interviews. The siblings have since been placed with a family member, police said.

Investigators determined the beatings had been going on for years, according to police.

Marshall and her boyfriend had beaten the 11-year-old boy over a long stretch of time, police said.

The child was allegedly hit with household objects, according to investigators.

Dish soap was allegedly poured into his mouth and ears, police said. He was not allowed to go to school at all.

Four other children were living in that home the entire time the abuse was reportedly happening, according to authorities.

After the child interviews wrapped up that same day, officers went back to the home and arrested Marion, police said.

Investigators later returned to the residence with a search warrant and collected evidence, police said.

Both Marshall and Marion were charged with aggravated battery to a child and endangering the life or health of a child, court records show.

The mother and the boyfriend were also each charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm and domestic battery involving physical contact, according to court documents.

A judge ordered both defendants held in custody, court records show.

The state asked to keep Marion detained until his next court date, which was granted. Prosecutors filed the same detention request against Marshall, according to court records.

A hearing for Marion was set for April 2.
