Knife-wielding attacker shot dead in Sacramento garage while stabbing 63-year-old mom and daughter: deputies

A California man was shot dead by responding deputies after allegedly stabbing a mother and daughter inside their garage, police said.

Officials identified the deceased suspect as 23-year-old Fareyeshyi Allahdin, police said.

Newly released video captured Allahdin roaming around Sacramento moments before running into the family’s garage, police said.

Sacramento police collected recordings of the suspect’s final moments before deputies intervened, according to authorities.

On July 15, the suspect was first spotted inside a local Starbucks at approximately 6:30 a.m., police said.

Allahdin allegedly walked into the coffee shop armed with a kitchen knife, according to authorities. Terrified employees fled to hide as the armed man went behind the store counter, police said.

In a 9-1-1 call, an employee reported that the suspect was banging on everything inside the business, according to police.

Staff members locked themselves in a back room of the store for safety, police said.

“He entered behind our counter and was trying to push into our back door,” an employee said. “We had to barricade it.”

Video footage later showed Allahdin jogging down Diablo Drive with the knife in his hand, according to authorities.

The suspect then walked directly into an open residential garage in the 5700 block of Diablo Drive, police said.

A 63-year-old mother was attempting to get into her car when Allahdin intercepted her, according to police.

The armed man immediately began stabbing the woman inside the garage, police said.

Her 26-year-old daughter heard screams coming from the garage and rushed to her mother’s aid, according to authorities.

The daughter managed to pull the suspect off her mother, police said. Allahdin then turned his attack onto the daughter, according to investigators.

Deputies arrived at the home while the daughter was still struggling with the armed man, video shows.

Responding officers loudly ordered the suspect to drop the knife, according to authorities.

Deputies quickly shot the man dead as he continued stabbing the 26-year-old woman, police said.

The mother was seen wandering around vehicles while covered in blood as she waited for emergency medical care, video shows.

Fire personnel pronounced Allahdin dead at the scene, according to authorities.

First responders transported both the mother and the daughter to a local hospital, police said. Both victims were listed in serious but stable condition, officials said.

No deputies or police officers were injured during the incident, according to authorities.

Investigators said they believed the violent encounter was completely random, according to police.

“Absolutely no relationship between any of them. This monster just saw an open garage, saw a victim and immediately started attacking,” Sgt. Edward Igoe, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said.

Officials later released a mugshot of Allahdin, authorities said.

Investigators also released a photo of the weapon, describing it as a silver kitchen-style knife with a 7-to 8-inch blade, according to police.

The attack served as a sobering reminder of everyday danger Sacramento residents could encounter, authorities said.

“I had my garage open at the same time – I got a wife, kids, so it’s just kind of hitting close to home,” one neighbor told KCRA.
