Brazos County deputies arrested Karla Jeannine West for allegedly pelting vehicles — after Good Samaritans stopped to help her stalled car

A Texas driver allegedly threw objects at vehicles after motorists pulled over to help her with a stalled car, deputies said.

Karla Jeannine West, 41, was arrested following the Tuesday afternoon incident, Brazos County deputies said.

Deputies were called to the area of Wellborn Road at Norwood Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports of a stalled vehicle, authorities said.

Callers informed dispatchers that a vehicle had broken down in the roadway. They reported that the driver was throwing objects at vehicles belonging to people who had stopped to offer help, according to authorities.

Three separate vehicles were struck by objects while their occupants were apparently attempting to assist her, deputies said.

West told responding deputies that multiple people had been following and chasing her before she ran out of gas, according to the arrest report.

Three vehicles were reportedly struck during the incident, although only one driver chose to pursue criminal charges, deputies said.

West was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief involving damage under $100, according to records.

The arrest marks her third booking into the Brazos County Jail, authorities said.

Her previous arrests include charges for family-violence assault and possession of a controlled substance, according to law enforcement records.

Those prior arrests are separate from the current allegation, officials said.

West has been charged but not convicted, records state.

She was later released from the Brazos County Jail on a $1,200 bond, records show.
