Pennsylvania customer jailed for shooting at DoorDash driver over late cheesesteaks threatened: ‘I’ll shoot you right now’

A Pennsylvania customer shot at a DoorDash driver after complaining that his cheesesteak order arrived cold, according to police.

Keilan Marshal McKeever, then 32, lived near First Avenue and Cherry Street in Richlandtown, Pennsylvania.

On March 22, 2025, around 9:30 p.m., authorities responded to the area after the driver reported gunfire, officials said.

The victim, 19-year-old Khalik Lewis, was a college student working for DoorDash to earn extra money while attending school, according to records.

That night, Lewis was completing a DoubleDash order requiring multiple drop-offs in the sequence assigned by the application, police said.

When the student arrived at the residence with the food, McKeever came outside angry about the wait time, according to court documents.

Lewis attempted to explain that the app dictated the order of his deliveries, police said. McKeever continued shouting about the delay and complained that the food was cold, according to investigators.

Surveillance footage from a nearby home later captured McKeever confronting the driver while armed with a loaded 9-millimeter handgun, records state.

During the confrontation, the resident threatened the teenager directly, police said. McKeever told him, “I’ll shoot you right now,” according to court documents.

Lewis walked back toward his Honda Civic, according to officials.

McKeever followed behind him while carrying the food, police said.

The driver climbed inside his car and prepared to leave the scene, according to investigators.

As Lewis began driving away, McKeever fired a shot at the vehicle, police said.

The bullet shattered the rear window, showering the driver’s hair with debris and metal fragments, according to court documents.

Lewis escaped without physical injury, but investigators later found a projectile embedded inside the hood of his sweatshirt, records state.

The student drove away from the area before calling 911, according to police.

Ballistics examiners later recovered bullet fragments from Lewis’ hair that were consistent with the distinctive rifling of an H&K 9-millimeter handgun seized from McKeever’s home, court documents state.

McKeever was arrested on March 24, 2025, according to officials.

Prosecutors initially charged him with attempted criminal homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and additional offenses, court records show. A judge set bail at $200,000, according to the complaint.

On June 16, 2026, the 33-year-old defendant entered an open guilty plea to two counts of aggravated assault, records state. He also pleaded guilty to weapon possession, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and disorderly conduct, while prosecutors dropped the attempted murder charge, according to court documents.

Lewis later said the shooting continued to affect him and that he stopped working for DoorDash after the attack.

On September 15, 2026, McKeever was sentenced to four to 10 years in state prison, court records show.

He was also ordered to pay $2,288 in restitution and undergo a mental health evaluation, according to records.
