A Kentucky woman has been arrested on charges of complicity to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence in the death of a key witness, authorities said.
Hailey Gilbert, 22, is of Corbin, Kentucky.
On September 11, Corbin Police assisted the U.S. Marshals Service in serving a Bell County arrest warrant, police said.
Gilbert was taken into custody without incident, authorities said. She was then booked into the Knox County Detention Center.
The charges are connected to the death of Bobby Smith, according to investigators.
In late August, Smith was found dead in Harlan County, police said.

Investigators identified Smith as a key witness against his brother, 69-year-old Darrell Carnahan, according to officials.
Carnahan is facing separate federal and local allegations involving human trafficking, sex offenses, drug crimes and organized crime, records show.
The Corbin woman is reportedly the sixth person arrested as part of the wider multi-agency investigation, authorities said.
Four other suspects are facing charges directly connected to Smith’s death, according to investigators.
Authorities have not publicly detailed Gilbert’s alleged role in the killing, police said. They have also not revealed what physical evidence she is accused of tampering with.
The underlying investigation involves alleged human trafficking and organized crime, officials said. Investigators still have not revealed exactly how all the pieces connect.
Gilbert has been charged, not convicted, following her booking into the Knox County Detention Center, records show.
