A Texas woman has been indicted on capital murder charges after a child allegedly died from a lack of food and medical care, according to an indictment.
Glenda Marks, 25, was returned to El Paso County following her arrest on felony charges involving two children, authorities said.
An El Paso County grand jury indicted the defendant on multiple charges, according to court documents.
The indictment formally charges Marks with one count of capital murder of a person under 10, court records show.
She was also indicted on one count of murder and four counts of injury to a child, elderly or disabled individual, prosecutors said.
In March 2023, one child died after Marks allegedly failed to provide sufficient food and necessary medical care, according to the indictment.
The defendant is accused of failing to provide adequate food and medical treatment to two children, court documents state.
Safeguards had been established to ensure the children were fed on a regular schedule, prosecutors said. Marks allegedly disabled the alarm systems that had been set up for those feedings.

The indictment further accuses Marks of preventing the other parent from seeing the children, court records state.
The accused falsely told the other parent that the children were fine and had been fed, according to prosecutors.
Authorities later located the 25-year-old in Montague County, officials said.
A fugitive task force took Marks into custody there, according to authorities.
The defendant was subsequently transported back to El Paso County, records show.
Marks was booked into the county detention facility, according to records.
Marks has been indicted and not convicted, and the allegations must be proven in court, records state.
Her combined bond has been set at $1.6 million, according to detention records.
