A Florida ex-con is back behind bars after allegedly removing an $800 security camera that recorded her first, police said.
Brigette Williams, 39, had only recently returned to the community after being released from prison, according to court records.
Williams was spotted Monday at a strip mall off Southeast Highway 19, Cross City police said.
Surveillance footage allegedly showed the suspect checking store doors to see whether they were unlocked, police said.

Williams then allegedly removed an $800 security camera from the wall, police said.
The security camera had already done its job before it was removed, police said. The device reportedly recorded the suspect before she took it down, according to investigators.
The ex-con was roughly four months out of prison before the incident took place, according to court records. She had been released in May following a 2022 aggravated assault case, records show.
The suspect was subsequently arrested following the incident, police said.
Williams was booked into the Dixie County Jail, according to police records.
