Hart County carjacking suspect Michael Ryan Morris, 37, who had an active warrant, was arrested trying to enter a home.

A Georgia man tried to force his way into a stranger’s occupied vehicle before allegedly attempting to enter a nearby home, deputies said.

Michael Ryan Morris, 37, is of Winder, Georgia.

Hart County deputies were called to the Bakers Bridge Road area around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

A woman reported that a man tried to get into her vehicle while she was still inside, according to deputies.

Morris had no connection whatsoever to the woman in the vehicle, investigators said.

Deputies began searching the area for the suspect, authorities said. While deputies were searching for him, another call came in, according to officials.

This time, someone reported a man trying to enter a nearby home, deputies said.

Responding deputies located the suspect and identified him as Morris, according to authorities.

Authorities discovered Morris had another problem waiting for him, deputies said. The suspect was wanted in Barrow County for an alleged probation violation, according to officials.

Morris was arrested on charges of second-degree hijacking of a motor vehicle, simple assault, disorderly conduct and loitering, deputies said.

The defendant was taken by EMS to an emergency room for medical evaluation, authorities said. He was cleared before being booked into the Hart County Jail, according to deputies.

The charges against the suspect remain allegations, authorities said.

Morris is currently behind bars, deputies said.
