“I CAN OUTRUN ANYONE ON THIS STREET”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PROSECUTORS SAY A 50-YEAR-OLD DRIVER REACHED 117 MPH IN AN ILLEGAL STREET RACE, SMASHED INTO A VEHICLE CARRYING TWO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS, LEFT HIS EIGHT-YEAR-OLD CHILD BEHIND IN THE WRECKAGE, AND NOW FACES TWO COUNTS OF MURDER.
On Aug. 14, a fatal collision occurred in Victorville.
Two Sultana High School seniors, Maddalyn Dailey and Isabell Hill, were traveling together in a car when the crash occurred.
Both teenagers were killed.
The two girls were best friends.
Authorities stated that the fatal wreck stemmed from illegal street racing.
Terry Lamar Easter, a 50-year-old resident of Apple Valley, was identified by authorities as a suspected street racer.
Easter is also known by the alias “Capone.”
According to prosecutors, Easter was behind the wheel of a yellow Chevrolet Camaro.
A black Dodge Charger was traveling alongside the yellow Camaro at the time.
Both vehicles were allegedly speeding side by side near the intersection of Ridgecrest Road and Elmwood Drive.
Easter allegedly reached a speed of 117 mph during the race.
Then the yellow Camaro slammed directly into an Acura carrying the two teenage girls.
The collision was catastrophic.
Prosecutors said the impact was so violent that the Acura split in half.
Dailey and Hill died from the collision.
Easter allegedly fled the scene of the wreck immediately after the impact.
Investigators said Easter left his own 8-year-old child behind inside his vehicle when he ran.

The other driver involved in the street race remained at the scene.
That driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
A $1 million arrest warrant was issued for Easter following the collision.
The California Highway Patrol released physical details to assist in locating him.
The CHP described Easter as 5 feet 6 inches tall with black hair and hazel eyes.
Detectives warned the public that they believed Easter was armed and dangerous.
Authorities also launched a search for two other individuals sought in connection with the crash.
Easter’s associate, Ryan Lewis, was wanted by law enforcement in relation to the case.
Lewis’ mother, Madge Wells, was also wanted in connection with the incident.
Both Lewis and Wells have since been apprehended.
On Friday, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office formally filed criminal charges against Easter.
Easter was charged with two counts of murder.
He also faces a felony charge of willful cruelty to a child.
Additionally, prosecutors charged Easter with engaging in a motor vehicle speed contest.
District Attorney Jason Anderson released a statement detailing the office’s findings.
“This was not an accident. Street racing at 117 mph is a deliberate and extraordinarily dangerous choice that ended the lives of two young best friends, exposing his own 8-year-old child to that danger, and abandoning his child after the crash to flee the scene,” District Attorney Jason Anderson said.
Easter is scheduled to appear Monday at the Victorville Superior Courthouse.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
