“I CAN GO RIGHT BACK ONLINE”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY CONVICTED OFFENDER MARCUS BOURKE RETURNED TO ONLINE CHILD LURING WHILE ON PAROLE… AND HE IS NOW BACK IN CUSTODY FACING NEW CHARGES.
A man from Canada’s Northwest Territories who was serving time for luring children online is back in custody.
Authorities say Marcus Bourke returned to the same pattern of illicit behavior after being released on parole.
Bourke is now in his late 20s.
In 2022, he was convicted of offenses including possessing child sexual abuse material and luring children.
Between 2016 and 2019, prosecutors said Bourke created fake social media profiles.
He used those accounts to impersonate popular teen personalities.
Prosecutors stated that the profiles were designed to trick children into sending sexually explicit images and videos.
He received a seven-year sentence.
Then he got parole.
In July 2025, the Parole Board of Canada granted Bourke full parole.
His release came with strict conditions.
The board ordered him to abstain from alcohol.
He was also required to attend mandatory treatment.
Another condition mandated that he report his relationships to a parole supervisor.
But the board said the rules did not last.

Bourke allegedly stopped taking medication meant to reduce alcohol cravings so he could resume drinking.
The board stated he did so despite knowing intoxication increased his risk of sexually reoffending.
According to the board, he relapsed on alcohol four times while on day and full parole.
Then came further allegations.
Authorities say Bourke was caught accessing the internet to contact minors again.
He is now facing new criminal charges.
Those charges include luring a child under 14.
He also faces a charge for possession of child sexual abuse material.
Additionally, he is charged with the production of child sexual abuse material.
The parole board delivered a direct assessment of his conduct.
“You have shown a consistent lack of motivation and effort towards making sustainable changes.”
His parole has now been revoked.
Bourke remains in custody.
He is subject to a lifetime sex offender registry order.
The new criminal investigation is ongoing.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
