BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY A 19-YEAR-OLD RESTAURANT WORKER KILLED HIS COWORKER AFTER SHE REVEALED THEIR ALLEGED AFFAIR TO HIS GIRLFRIEND… AND HE NOW FACES A SECOND-DEGREE MURDER CHARGE FOLLOWING HIS ARREST IN MARYLAND.
On August 17, 2026, 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch was found dead inside her car.
The vehicle was discovered near Difficult Run Park in Great Falls, Virginia.
Puch had reportedly been stabbed multiple times.
She was a mother to a 3-year-old daughter.
Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, 19, is accused of killing her.
According to court documents, Puch and Cedillos-Campos worked together at the same restaurant in Herndon.
Court documents state that the two coworkers were allegedly involved in an intimate relationship.
Investigators say Puch sent screenshots to Cedillos-Campos’ girlfriend.
The images appeared to prove the affair.
Investigators say Cedillos-Campos became furious.
He allegedly left work saying he was going to kill Puch.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured his actions before he departed.

The footage reportedly showed Cedillos-Campos taking a large knife from the restaurant.
He also reportedly took latex gloves and a bottle before leaving.
Then, he allegedly met Puch at a park later that night.
Police say he stabbed her multiple times.
Police say he poured gasoline over her body.
He was apparently attempting to set the body on fire.
A witness later spoke with investigators about the aftermath.
That witness told investigators that Cedillos-Campos called after the killing.
During the phone call, he allegedly said he had “done it.”
And he was arrested two days later in Maryland while allegedly attempting to flee from authorities.
Cedillos-Campos faces a second-degree murder charge.
Prosecutors could pursue additional or more serious charges as the investigation continues.
Cedillos-Campos remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
