BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY STEVEN KARG STRUCK A VICTIM WITH A PHONE AND A TV REMOTE IN FRONT OF A CHILD AND VIOLATED A PROTECTION ORDER DAYS LATER… AND RECEIVED A CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE INSTEAD OF IMMEDIATE JAIL TIME.
Steven Karg is a man from Grand Gorge, New York.
A domestic dispute occurred on Aug. 25, 2025.
During the dispute, Karg was accused of domestic assault.
He was accused of pulling a victim’s hair.
He was accused of striking the victim with a phone.
And he was accused of striking the victim with a TV remote.
Authorities said the incident happened in the presence of a child.
Following the dispute, criminal charges were filed.
Karg was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
He was also charged with second-degree harassment.
An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victims.
Yet the order was breached just days later.

On Aug. 31, police said Karg violated that order.
Police said he violated it by sending text messages to the protected party.
Then the case moved to court for resolution.
Karg ultimately pleaded guilty.
He pleaded guilty in a domestic violence case that also involved violating an Order of Protection.
He pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal contempt.
Sentencing followed the guilty plea.
He received no immediate jail sentence.
He was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge.
But the sentence includes strict conditions.
If he violates the terms of that discharge, he can be resentenced.
He can be resentenced to up to two years in jail.
