BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY LINDSAY CLANCY STRANGLED HER THREE YOUNG CHILDREN BEFORE JUMPING FROM A SECOND-STORY WINDOW… AND A JURY HAS DEADLOCKED AT HER MURDER TRIAL.
South Carolina congresswoman Nancy Mace is publicly reacting to Lindsay Clancy’s high-profile murder trial.
Mace is 48 years old.
She is a single mother of two.
On Wednesday, September 2, Mace addressed the case in a post on Facebook.
She shared footage from her appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored discussing the trial.
“If postpartum mental illness becomes a get-out-of-jail-free card for murdering your children, then by that logic, anyone diagnosed with it should lose custody of their kids,” Mace wrote.
“You cannot blame this murder on anyone or anything else.”
Clancy, 36, was charged with murder following the deaths of her three children in January 2023.
Lindsay and ex-husband Patrick Clancy shared Cora, Dawson and Callan.
Cora died at 5 years old.
Dawson died at 3 years old.
Callan died at 8 months old.
After strangling her kids, Lindsay jumped from a second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt.
She is now paralyzed from the waist down.
Lindsay has never denied killing her three children.
But she pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder with her defense team arguing that she should not be held criminally responsible due to her documented postpartum mental health struggles.
Mace further addressed Lindsay’s trial during the broadcast on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Her statements followed remarks from another participant on the panel.
“I think it’s so interesting how conservative women are completely supporting the pharmaceutical industry. Lindsay Clancy was suffering,” another panelist claimed.

“Now all of a sudden we’re in support of the pharmaceutical industry? There [are] serious questions here.”
Mace, meanwhile, pointed out that during the trial, experts claimed that Lindsay hadn’t been taking her prescribed medication.
The politician’s fellow panelist theorized on the defendant’s mental health during the broadcast.
“I believe that she was experiencing a complete postpartum psychosis,” the politician’s fellow panelist theorized.
“I know women who have experienced actual tearing in childbirth that causes extreme psychosis in women, so we have to be having these conversations. Is it an excuse for her to kill her children? Absolutely not.”
The individual stated that she believes “the act of killing those children is evil.”
Yet she argued that the case should prompt a broader conversation about medications that they are allegedly “causing people to do.”
“They’re so easily accessible,” she added.

Then the case reached a critical point in court.
The panel consisted of a 12-person jury.
On Friday, September 4, a Massachusetts judge prepared to declare a mistrial after the jury remained deadlocked and failed to reach a unanimous verdict.
“With a heavy heart, we report we are unable to come to a unanimous decision. We will not be able to,” a note from the jury read.
The judge noted his intentions to allow the defense one hour at the request of Clancy’s attorney.
The defense sought the time while they pursue an emergency stay from the Supreme Judicial Court.
