A Wales teacher rushed from her classroom carrying the knife a 15-year-old student used to stab her in the head, according to court records.

Surveillance video released after the sentencing shows the teenage boy calmly walking into the classroom, according to footage presented in court. Seconds later, the student rushed back outside after attacking his teacher.
Williams then ran through the doorway after him while holding the large knife and rubbing her injured head, the video shows.
The teacher recounted her initial thoughts during the classroom assault, according to the Sun.
“I thought to myself, ‘I hope that isn’t a knife because I’m dead,” she told cops, according to the Sun.
“I thought I was dying. I thought I had seen my daughter for the last time,” Williams told police.
Williams was left with a scalp injury, defensive wounds on her hands, and a 2.8-inch gash on her back, court records show.
Catherine Wilcox, the school’s safeguarding lead, described the aftermath during testimony at the boy’s attempted murder trial, records show.
“I could just see blood, her hair was all over the place,” Wilcox told the court.
“She just looked horrific. Her skin was the color of a dead body,” Wilcox testified.

The teenager fled the school grounds immediately following the stabbing, according to court documents. Before his arrest later that day, the boy told his grandma that “something went in my head.”
Authorities did not publicly identify the defendant because he was 15 years old at the time of the attack, police said.
Prosecutors charged the teenager with attempted murder, court records show. Jurors acquitted him of that charge, however, and convicted him of wounding with intent.
Judge Paul Thomas sentenced the youth on Thursday to four and a half years in a youth detention facility, records show.
Thomas rebuked the teenager during the hearing, according to court records.
“You could have killed her,” Judge Paul Thomas told him. “It was pure luck that she did not have far worse injuries, maybe even fatal injuries.”
The reason the teenager attacked the teacher is not known, according to court records. Thomas noted, however, that the youth brought the knife to school intending to hurt her.
“What I do know for certain is that you took a knife that day to school because you wanted to really hurt her with it,” the judge said.
Williams said the stabbing left her nervous around young men and unlikely to return to work, according to her victim impact statement.
“I don’t think I could be the same teacher I was before,” she said in a victim impact statement.
“School starts in early September and at the moment I don’t think I’ll be returning.”
