A 17-year-old San Antonio teenager who was the subject of an AMBER Alert has been found dead from gunshot wounds in a field, police said.
Darian Alexandre Rangel, 17, was found around 7:50 p.m. Friday in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers located the youth in a grassy field near Wurzbach Parkway and Vista Del Norte, police said.
He had suffered gunshot wounds, according to investigators.
Rangel had originally been reported missing after he was last seen Sept. 7 in the 7200 block of Marbach Road in San Antonio, police said. The Texas Department of Public Safety discontinued the AMBER Alert for the teenager on Sunday.

On Monday, the medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide. San Antonio police are investigating the case as a murder, the department said.
Investigators also say the teenager’s death is connected to another case involving a second body, police said.
In that separate case, a decomposed body was found Saturday near a water basin on San Antonio’s Northeast Side, investigators said.
That individual had also suffered gunshot wounds, according to police officials.
Police have not yet publicly detailed the nature of the connection between the two deaths.
