An Alabama water park owner is facing a domestic violence charge after allegedly attempting to choke his girlfriend, police said.
Daniel Koch is the owner of Alabama Adventure and Splash Adventure.
On Sept. 2, Hoover police officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call around 2:03 p.m., according to authorities.
Responding officers spoke with both Koch and his girlfriend upon arriving at the scene. They also reviewed physical evidence found at the location, police said.
Investigators said that evidence led them to determine that the theme park executive had allegedly attempted to choke the woman, according to police.
Koch was arrested on the scene and charged with domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation, police said.
The park owner was initially taken to the Hoover City Jail. He was subsequently transferred to the Jefferson County Jail, authorities said.
No additional details regarding the incident will be released because of the sensitive nature of the case, police said.
Koch was later released from custody after posting a $15,000 bond, according to police.
