A 27-year-old Manhattan woman was discovered beaten to death inside an apartment on Sunday, according to police sources.
The 27-year-old victim’s identity was not released pending family notification, according to the NYPD.
On Sunday shortly after 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a wellness check in Washington Heights, cops said.
The call brought police to an apartment on 156th Street near Amsterdam Avenue, according to authorities.
Inside the residence, responding officers discovered the woman’s corpse, police said.

The victim’s face and neck were left badly beaten, according to the NYPD.
A 5-year-old child was found inside the apartment along with the body, police sources said. The child was unharmed, according to officials.
The young child had been left alone with her battered body for an unknown length of time, according to police sources.
The deadly incident appears to be domestic, sources told the newspaper. The nature of the victim and killer’s relationship was not immediately clear on Sunday, according to authorities.
The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the woman’s cause of death, police said.
The suspect in the fatal beating remained on the loose, sources said.
