Philadelphia house of horrors packed with chemical vats and snuff movies yields fifth missing woman, Nicole Fusaro

A 44-year-old Philadelphia gun suspect has been linked to a home where investigators uncovered alleged snuff films and evidence tied to five missing women, police said.

Eugene Horsch, 44, is tied along with his late father to the property in the Olney neighborhood of North Philadelphia, according to authorities.

Officers are currently examining more than one million digital images recovered from the residence, police said.

Federal authorities have expanded their involvement in the ongoing probe, according to investigators. The FBI has increased the number of agents assigned to the sprawling case, officials said.

The house was previously owned by Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, a photographer who died in 2025 at the age of 82, records show.

The elder Horsch was a convicted meth producer, an erotic photographer, and a self-described “sociopath,” police said.

Investigators believe he used the North Philadelphia residence to lure vulnerable female drug addicts, according to police.

Detectives seized 50 computer hard drives from inside the house during their search, officers said.

The inquiry into the property began following the arrest of the younger Horsch during the summer, police said.

On June 19, officers arrested Eugene in Center City, Philadelphia, on suspicion of impersonating federal agents and possessing firearms with obliterated serial numbers, according to court documents.

He was found sitting inside a vehicle alongside a woman who was carrying fraudulent identification, police said.

That identification bore the name of Blair Tonzelli, a healthcare aide who vanished in February 2023, according to investigators. She was 35 years old when she disappeared from the Kensington section of the city, police said.

A financial bank card issued in Tonzelli’s name was subsequently recovered inside the Olney residence, according to authorities.

A friend previously stated that Tonzelli described Eugene as a “sociopath,” according to reports. The friend said Eugene allegedly spoke of dissolving bodies in order to flush them down a toilet, police said.

Following that June arrest, detectives searched the property and uncovered what they described as multiple disturbing items, according to investigators.

The seized materials included alleged snuff movies featuring the elder Horsch alongside several missing women, police said.

In August, investigators located an explicit video that allegedly shows Raymond Horsch strangling a woman inside the residence, police said.

The identity of the woman shown in that footage has not been released publicly, according to authorities. Police confirmed they identified a relative of the victim and informed the family that the recording was made inside the Olney residence, officials said.

Authorities and family members have now identified Nicole Fusaro as a fifth missing woman connected to the property, police said.

Fusaro disappeared in 2018 at the age of 27, according to authorities.

Members of Fusaro’s family have held meetings with Philadelphia police detectives, her cousin Jonathan Halloran-Koren told WPVI.

“Nicole was a beautiful, kindhearted woman who deserved so much better than what happened to her. She will forever be loved and missed by her family and friends,” Halloran Koren said.

Investigators have not confirmed whether Fusaro is the woman seen being strangled in the August recording, police said.

Detectives previously located alleged snuff films that purportedly depict two other missing women, according to police.

One video purportedly shows Gabrielle Amarando, who was 22 years old when she went missing in 2012, police said.

Another recording purportedly depicts Maribel Fresses, who disappeared in 2018 at the age of 27, according to investigators.

A fifth woman tied to the address has been identified as Amy McHale, who had been married to Raymond Horsch, police said.

McHale vanished at the age of 44, according to investigators. She was last seen at the property in June 2016, police said.

Specialized teams are continuing to inspect the sewer lines running beneath the Olney parcel, authorities said.

Investigators are also analyzing several large chemical vats recovered from the home, police said. Records show those containers were purchased by Eugene, according to investigators.

Search teams also recovered an unsigned handwritten document from inside the house referencing serial killer Ted Bundy, according to police.

The handwritten papers also outlined specific instructions and methods regarding the disposal of trash, police said.

In July, a grand jury indicted Eugene on charges of possessing firearms with altered serial numbers and carrying false credentials, court documents show.

He has not been charged with any crimes in connection with the five missing women, and the investigation remains open, police said.
