NeNe Leakes defends Kim Zolciak after 15-year-old son KJ’s arrest — as prosecutors cite phone video involving relative under 12

A 15-year-old reality television son has been indicted on multiple charges including aggravated child molestation, according to court documents.

Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., 15, is the son of television personality Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann.

The teenager was indicted on allegations of sexual assault and sex with a minor female relative, prosecutors said.

The charges include aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery, according to court records.

The defendant also faces counts of aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment, prosecutors said.

Additionally, the indictment lists three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16, according to prosecutors.

The arrest led investigators to the discovery of phone footage, according to Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy.

The footage allegedly showed Biermann and an unidentified family member under the age of 12 engaging in sexual activity, McGillicuddy said.

Authorities allegedly found evidence of “multiple encounters” between the two, prosecutors claimed.

Prosecutors also claimed Biermann allegedly used “predatory [and] derogatory” language toward the victim, according to court filings.

Zolciak, 48, shares the accused teenager with Biermann, 41, along with three other minor children.

The couple shares 14-year-old son Kash and 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane.

Zolciak also welcomed daughters Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24, in previous relationships.

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes addressed the arrest during a radio appearance, according to reports.

Leakes, who appeared on the original cast with Zolciak, spoke on the Friday, September 11, episode of the “Big Tigger Morning Show.”

“I just hit her up, wanting to know how she’s doing, congratulating her on [her daughter] Brielle [Biermann] and making sure she was OK with what her son is dealing with — I know that’s a tough time and I know she’s not OK,” Leakes said.

Leakes confirmed that she reached out to offer support to her former co-star amid the ordeal. But she noted that the two women are not in contact on a daily basis, Leakes stated.

On Tuesday, September 15, Leakes spoke about the situation again during an interview with TMZ.

“Everybody parents differently,” Leakes, 58, told TMZ on Tuesday, September 15.

“As a mom, I’m just sure she’s not OK,” Leakes said, adding, “We’ve texted together, that’s it.”

Online critics have publicly speculated about the accusations facing the teenager, according to reports. But Leakes added that she had no message for online haters regarding the case.

Zolciak previously released a statement addressing her son’s arrest, Us reported on August 21.

“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” Zolciak wrote at the time.

“He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged,” she wrote.

Prosecutors alleged that illegal encounters took place between the youth and the relative, according to court documents. But Zolciak stated that an examination was conducted and no DNA belonging to her son was found.

“My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed,” the mother added.

The suspect has not publicly addressed the latest accusations, according to reports. But his lawyer told TMZ on Friday, “The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case.”

KJ was released on a $200,000 bond subject to 24-hour pretrial house arrest ahead of his October 14 arraignment, Us confirmed.
