Robert Robbins allegedly cut ex’s hair with machete in Columbus: ‘No man will look at you the same again’

An Ohio man allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend inside her residence and cut off her hair with a machete, according to court records.

Robert Robbins, 40, was arrested following the alleged attack inside the woman’s Columbus home, police said.

On September 6, Robbins allegedly went to the residence after the woman refused to allow him inside, according to court documents.

Robbins spent hours outside the Columbus home knocking on the door and repeatedly asking to be let in, according to court records.

The woman refused to grant him entry, police said. She eventually came to believe that he had left the property.

Robbins had remained outside instead, according to investigators.

He then used a key that he had previously claimed was lost to enter the home, police said.

Robbins walked into the house and approached his ex-girlfriend while concealing a machete behind his back, according to court records.

He allegedly climbed on top of the woman and began cutting off her hair with the weapon, police said. She fought to escape during the assault.

The victim suffered injuries to both her head and her hands during the confrontation, according to investigators.

Responding officers arrived at the residence and found the woman with a large wound on her head, police said.

She was transported from the scene to a local hospital, authorities said. Her injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening.

Robbins was taken into custody and charged with felonious assault with a deadly weapon, according to police.

His bond was set at $50,000, according to court records.
