Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Robert Quinn, who allegedly fought cops after a hit-and-run, appears bloodied in newly released arrest video

A former NFL pass rusher was arrested after allegedly crashing into a parked vehicle and scuffling with officers, according to a police incident report.

Robert Quinn, 34, is a veteran professional football player who spent over a decade in the league with the Rams, Dolphins, Bears and Dallas Cowboys.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on January 10, 2025, in North Charleston, South Carolina, police said.

Quinn allegedly drove his truck into an unoccupied parked vehicle and attempted to leave the scene, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Responding officers found the former athlete attempting to flee the area with assistance from an acquaintance, the incident report states. He allegedly chose to leave rather than remain to handle the aftermath of the crash.

Officers noted that Quinn exhibited slurred speech when they made contact with him, according to the police report.

The motorist was also unwilling to identify himself to officers at the scene, the report states.

Officers subsequently moved to place Quinn under arrest for leaving the scene of a collision involving property damage, police said.

The encounter quickly turned physical when the suspect resisted the arresting officers, according to police documents.

Officers placed the 34-year-old in an arm bar to force him to the ground, the report states. He allegedly fought back against the patrolmen instead of complying with orders.

Patrolmen eventually managed to subdue the suspect and secure him in handcuffs, according to the incident report.

Body-worn and squad car video of the arrest was obtained and published months later by TMZ Sports, reports show.

The footage shows officers escorting Quinn toward a police cruiser while he struggled to maintain his balance, according to the recording.

By the time officers placed Quinn inside the vehicle, blood was visibly dripping from several parts of his face, the footage shows.

Quinn appeared to struggle with forming complete sentences as officers placed him in the back of the cruiser, the recording shows.

The suspect repeatedly asked officers why he was being arrested, the video indicates. Officers attempted to explain the circumstances of the arrest to him, the footage shows.

At one point during the arrest, Quinn kicked the interior door of the cruiser, according to the video.

The action appeared to be an attempt by the athlete to exit the vehicle, the footage shows.

Quinn was not taken directly to a detention center following the confrontation, according to police records.

Officers first transported Quinn to a medical facility so personnel could evaluate and treat his injuries, police said.

Quinn was later booked into a nearby jail following his medical evaluation, according to police documents.

A booking photograph shows visible cuts across Quinn’s forehead and down the bridge of his nose, records show. The facial lacerations appeared fresh and wet in the booking image, the record states.

Prosecutors brought two misdemeanor charges against Quinn in connection with the North Charleston incident, court records show.

The defendant was charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving, according to court documents.

Quinn was also charged with one misdemeanor count of hit and run, the filings state.

The prosecution did not file charges related to resisting arrest or the physical struggle with patrolmen, according to the reporting.

Quinn’s NFL career as a journeyman pass rusher had reached its final stretch prior to the arrest, reports state.

An attorney representing Quinn declined to provide comment when contacted regarding the case, reporting shows.

A trial in the case was tentatively scheduled for this December, court updates state. The misdemeanor charges remain pending in court a year after the arrest, records show.
