“I WILL KEEP HER CONCEALED AND OUT OF SIGHT”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY A 38-YEAR-OLD FATHER WHO ALLEGEDLY FATHERED HIS 14-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER’S BABY IS ACTIVELY HIDING THE TEEN AS BOTH FACE CHARGES OVER THE NEWBORN’S ROADSIDE DEATH IN CALIFORNIA.
On August 1, deputies and first responders were called to a report of a baby in Monterey County.
They arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m. that morning.
First responders discovered the newborn girl dead upon their arrival.
Investigators are calling the infant “Baby Angelita.”
Monterey County is situated about a 115-mile drive south from San Francisco.
An investigation revealed that a 14-year-old girl gave birth to the baby girl on the side of a roadway.
The teenager then put the baby on the ground and left the area, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
The details were outlined by the sheriff’s office in a Monday, August 31 news release.
Following the discovery of Baby Angelita, a postmortem forensic examination was conducted.
According to authorities, the examination showed the baby had “signs of traumatic injury.”
“She was a newborn child whose life was tragically taken,” Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto said during an August 31 news conference.
The girl’s father was identified by authorities as 38-year-old Sergio Galvez Perez of Castroville/Salinas.
Perez is allegedly the father of the newborn, the sheriff’s office said.
Nieto also said the 14-year-old is “a victim because of the sexual abuse by her own father.”
Arrest warrants have now been issued in relation to the newborn’s death.
The arrest warrant for the 14-year-old charges her with murder.
The warrant for Perez charges him with multiple felonies in relation to the baby’s death, according to the sheriff’s office.

And authorities are now actively searching for Perez and his daughter.
“Detectives have determined that Sergio Galvez Perez is currently concealing the 14-year-old juvenile and preventing law enforcement from locating her,” the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators used Flock cameras and other techniques to develop leads in the case.
According to the sheriff’s office, those investigative methods led detectives to a “vehicle of interest.”
The leads also brought investigators to potential individuals associated with Baby Angelita’s death.
Yet Perez and the teenager have not been located.
At the news conference, Nieto delivered a direct message toward Perez.
“You need to turn yourself in,” Nieto said.
“This remains an active murder investigation,” the sheriff also said.
The investigation has also resulted in an arrest involving another family member.
The girl’s mother, 36-year-old Ofelia Garcia Ortega of Castroville/Salinas, was arrested on a child endangerment charge as part of the investigation into the newborn’s death, according to authorities.
Ortega was booked into the Monterey County Jail.
Authorities said she has since posted bail and was released from the jail.
The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone who sees Perez to call 911 immediately.
The agency also warns the public not to approach or confront him.
“Anyone with information that may assist investigators, including information regarding the whereabouts of Sergio Galvez Perez or the 14-year-old juvenile, is asked to contact Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant Nicholas Kennedy at (831) 755-3773 or Detective Richard Geng at (831) 759-7279,” the sheriff’s office said.
