While her marriage to John-Paul Miller drew widespread attention after she died, she had been married once before.
Mica first married at the age of 18.
On September 29, 2012, Mica married Jeremy Deas.
Both Mica and Deas attended Solid Rock Church.
John-Paul Miller served as a pastor at the church.
John-Paul officiated the wedding ceremony for Mica and Deas.
Deas was actively involved in the sports ministry at Solid Rock Church.
According to FITSNews, Deas was reportedly close friends with John-Paul.
During her marriage to Deas, Mica began an affair with John-Paul.
Mica and John-Paul then decided they wanted to be together.
In 2016, Mica filed for divorce from Deas.
In 2016, John-Paul also filed for divorce from his first wife, Alison Williams.
Little is known about the marriage between Mica and Deas.
Deas did not appear in Death of a Pastor’s Wife to give his account.
John-Paul and Mica first met at Solid Rock Church when she was a teenager.
In 2015, when Mica was 20 years old, their relationship became romantic.
Once their respective divorces were finalized, Mica and John-Paul married in November 2017.
Mica’s family was skeptical of the marriage due to the 15-year age difference between them.

In June 2024, her father told The Sun News that the family had warned Mica it was “very unwise” to be with John-Paul.
Her father stated that the family dealt with the relationship solely to remain in contact with her.
“When it’s your sibling, you support them and you just voice your concerns,” Mica’s sister Sierra Francis told the outlet at the time.
“But the only way that we could maintain a relationship with her is if we kind of push our differences to the side,” Francis added.
The couple eventually separated.
In February 2024, Mica filed for divorce from John-Paul.
And their divorce was never finalized.
In April 2024, Mica died at the age of 30.
Her death was initially ruled a suicide.
Police then launched an investigation into the matter.
The investigation followed claims Mica made in the months leading up to her death stating she was being stalked.
Authorities have maintained that she died by suicide.
In November 2024, police arrested John-Paul.
The arrest followed the collection of evidence indicating he cyberstalked Mica from November 2022 until her death.
Authorities also determined that John-Paul lied to investigators while being interviewed regarding her death.
He was charged with cyberstalking.
He was also charged with making false statements to federal investigators.
John-Paul has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He is currently out of custody after posting bond.
His federal case remains ongoing.
John-Paul is scheduled to appear in court in October 2026.
