BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY A FLORIDA ADDICTION TREATMENT INTERN HAD SEX WITH A PATIENT DURING THERAPY SESSIONS AND ARRANGED ALIBIS FOR HIM TO LEAVE THE RESTRICTED FACILITY… AND SHE NOW FACES UP TO FIVE YEARS IN PRISON.
Michelle Luchau-Rebora appeared in court on Wednesday wearing a green anti-suicide smock.
The 32-year-old intern is facing a charge of sexual misconduct by a psychotherapist, according to WPLG.
Under Florida law, that offense constitutes a third-degree felony.
A conviction on the charge could lead to up to five years in state prison.
According to court documents obtained by the television station, the allegations stem from her work at an addiction treatment facility in Homestead.
Luchau-Rebora allegedly struck up a romance last June while working as an intern at the New Hope C.O.R.P.S. center.
It remains unclear from the records how long she had been serving in her internship when the alleged relationship got underway.
The patient involved in the alleged romance was an otherwise unidentified 42-year-old man.
According to the court documents, the pair allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse during therapy sessions.
Court records further alleged that Luchau-Rebora cooked up excuses that allowed the man to leave the restricted facility.
Specifically, the documents claimed she “facilitated alibis on his behalf, which allowed him authorization to leave the restricted facility and engage in sexual intercourse on multiple occasions.”
Those authorized departures allowed the two to meet at several locations outside the grounds of the treatment center.
According to the documents, that included having sex at Luchau-Rebora’s home in Pinecrest.
The documents stated that the pair also had sex at her mother’s residence in Key Biscayne.
Additionally, the encounters took place inside Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, according to the court filings.

Throughout the alleged three-month romance, the intern allegedly sought to ensure the relationship stayed hidden from colleagues and supervisors.
The documents claimed the intern “demanded that he not tell anyone about their relationship because it will affect her ability to work as a therapist.”
Then Luchau-Rebora ended the romance last fall.
Her decision to call off the relationship prompted the 42-year-old patient to report her conduct to officials at the facility.
Staff members at New Hope C.O.R.P.S. subsequently forwarded the man’s complaint to law enforcement investigators.
Luchau-Rebora later turned herself in to authorities to face the felony charge.
Facility leadership addressed the situation in a statement provided to local media.
“Upon becoming aware of the allegations, New Hope promptly reported the matter to the appropriate authorities and agencies, terminated the individual’s internship, and fully cooperated with the subsequent investigation,” Stephen Alvarez, the New Hope C.O.R.P.S. executive director, told WPLG.
Following her court appearance, Luchau-Rebora secured her release from custody.
Records show she posted a $5,000 bond on Wednesday night.
Yet when approached outside after posting bond, she refused to discuss the allegations with reporters.
“I’m not going to comment on anything. You can ask my lawyer,” she told a Florida journalist before telling them to leave her alone.
“This is kinda weird,” she added.
“I really don’t wanna add anything right now.”
She remains out of custody.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
