A 32-year-old Alabama man allegedly entered an unlocked home and attacked a resident watching television before waiting in a truck for arriving officers, police said.
Randal Blake Boatwright, 32, is of Hokes Bluff.
The incident occurred around 10:50 on a Wednesday morning at a residence on Bryan Street in Gadsden, police said.
A 31-year-old man was sitting in his living room watching television with his family, according to police.
A stranger walked inside the residence through an unlocked front door, police said. The resident confronted the intruder and asked who he was and what he was doing there, police said.
Instead of answering the resident, Boatwright allegedly charged at him, according to police.
The two men wrestled on the floor for several minutes, police said.

Boatwright then allegedly punched the resident in the face, police said. The resident eventually forced the intruder back out the door, according to police.
As he walked away, Boatwright turned back toward the victim, police said.
Boatwright allegedly told the man, “I have a gun, I’ll take care of you,” police said.
The suspect did not run after making the threat, police said. He walked over to his truck, got inside, and sat there until officers arrived, police said.
Officers arrived at the scene and placed Boatwright under arrest, police said.
Boatwright was booked on charges of second-degree burglary and resisting arrest, records show.
The victim told officers that he had never seen the man before and had no idea who he was, according to police.
