Louisiana home care worker Reginald Wilson, filmed allegedly giving a disabled patient bleach, faces charges after confessing to furious relatives.

A 30-year-old Louisiana home care worker allegedly gave a disabled patient bleach to drink, according to police.

Reginald Andre Wilson, 30, worked in Lake Charles for Heaven on Earth, an agency providing personal care and daily living assistance.

The incident took place on Monday afternoon inside the patient’s home, video shared online by the man’s family shows.

The Lake Charles patient was sitting in the living room when the worker grabbed a bottle and walked into the kitchen, according to home security video.

Wilson was dressed in black scrubs as he walked into the kitchen, the video shows.

Security cameras captured him carefully pouring liquid out of a plastic tank, the footage shows.

The tank contained bleach, according to police.

Wilson allegedly poured the cleaning substance into the bottle, according to cops. He then shook the liquid and returned to the patient, the video shows.

The caregiver handed the drink back to the patient, according to the video. “Here, drink this,” he said.

The patient drank the liquid and said it tasted like bleach, Lake Charles police told WCTV.

Relatives later confronted the worker over the tainted drink, police told the station. Wilson then fessed up to tampering with the beverage, according to cops.

He confessed to a family member that he had poured the cleaning substance into the bottle, police said.

Heaven on Earth condemned Wilson’s actions, but declined to provide additional details due to HIPAA law, the provider said.

“Heaven On Earth Network Inc. administration and staff are deeply saddened to see what transpired in the recent video shared on social media concerning a client and one of our staff members. I would like to start off by saying that our client’s health and safety is our number one priority and that any abuse is not tolerated by our agency,” the health care service said.

“We immediately took action and removed the worker and transported client to ER to be evaluated. We are working with local authorities as well as state agencies according to our policies and procedures,” the agency said.

Officers with the Lake Charles police subsequently arrested Wilson, authorities said.

The 30-year-old worker was taken into custody on a charge of mingling harmful substances, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Wilson could face a prison sentence of up to two years if convicted on that charge, according to officials.

The statute also carries a potential fine of up to $1,000, officials said.
