“THE CHILDREN IN THIS HOUSE WILL OBEY ME”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY A 51-YEAR-OLD MASSACHUSETTS IN-HOME DAYCARE OPERATOR SUBJECTED TODDLERS TO REPEATED ABUSE, INCLUDING STRIKING THEM WITH KITCHEN SUPPLIES AND LOCKING A CHILD IN AN ATTIC, AND SHE IS NOW FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES IN COURT.
Karen Rezendes, 51, operated an in-home daycare in Massachusetts.
She is now facing multiple charges following a police investigation into alleged mistreatment at the facility.
Police say toddlers placed in her care were subjected to repeated abuse.
According to investigators, the alleged victims were mostly between 1 and 4 years old.
The accusations include violently shoving a child to the ground.
Rezendes is also accused of hitting a toddler with kitchen supplies.
Authorities allege that a child was slammed against a counter.
Investigators further accuse Rezendes of locking a child in the attic.
The case reportedly began when Rezendes’ estranged husband contacted parents in July regarding alleged abuse.
Those parents then contacted police.
What followed was a multi-week investigation by law enforcement.

That inquiry involved witness interviews as well as video evidence.
And some neighbors were apparently not shocked by the developments.
Several neighbors said they had harbored concerns about Rezendes’ aggressive behavior for years.
One neighbor said, “These poor babies locked in an attic. What is with these people that they think they can do this to children and that it’s OK?”
Separate investigations were launched by Massachusetts child welfare and early education agencies.
Rezendes’ daycare is no longer licensed following those state investigations.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued in the case.
Rezendes turned herself in on the warrant.
She pleaded not guilty on Friday.
Rezendes remains out on bail.
She is due back in court on Sept. 4.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
