“WE WILL TRACK YOU ACROSS STATE LINES TO FINISH THE JOB”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY TWO MINNEAPOLIS STREET GANG HITMEN TRAVELED MORE THAN 1,000 MILES TO GEORGIA TO AMBUSH TWO MEN OUTSIDE A HOME… KILLING ONE VICTIM AND WOUNDING ANOTHER BEFORE ULTIMATELY PLEADING GUILTY AND RECEIVING 40-YEAR SENTENCES.
A Georgia homicide investigation eventually stretched more than 1,000 miles across the country.
The cross-country probe led investigators directly to two alleged members of a Minneapolis criminal street gang.
On January 7, 2022, police officers responded to reports of a shooting near Summit View Court in Snellville, Georgia.
Upon arrival, officers found 28-year-old Tewodros “Teddy” Haile dead from a gunshot wound.
A second victim, 36-year-old Fahmi Omer Ahmed, had been shot six times during the encounter.
Ahmed survived the gunfire.
Witnesses informed detectives that two men dressed in black clothing and wearing black masks opened fire at the scene.
Those witnesses reported that the masked gunmen immediately fled the area inside a white SUV.
Haile had reportedly just left the home of a friend and was preparing to drive away when the gunfire began.
Investigators located a duffel bag containing marijuana with Haile at the scene.
Police also stated that both Haile and Ahmed were armed during the incident.
Detectives began tracking the getaway vehicle and traced the white SUV to a rental company.
Investigators then utilized license plate reader cameras to reconstruct the vehicle’s travel route.
And that digital trail eventually led law enforcement officials to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Authorities subsequently identified the suspected shooters as Salih Ahmad Abdi and Abdulrahman Munye Haji-Sufi.
Both Abdi and Haji-Sufi were 19 years old at the time of the Snellville attack.
Minneapolis investigators identified both teenagers as active members of the Somalian Outlawz criminal street gang.

A police gang expert went further by describing Abdi and Haji-Sufi as paid hitmen utilized by the street organization.
Investigators also connected the pair to an earlier Georgia shooting that occurred on January 1, 2022, in Fayetteville.
In addition, law enforcement linked both men to a separate shooting carried out in San Diego, California.
On February 14, 2022, authorities located and arrested both Abdi and Haji-Sufi in Covina, California.
Both suspects were reportedly found inside a vehicle containing disassembled firearm components.
Authorities confirmed those disassembled weapon parts were connected to the shooting in San Diego.
Investigators also identified the individual who allegedly drove the rental SUV during the fatal Snellville attack.
Police identified that driver as a member of Chicago’s Black Disciples street gang.
But that individual has since died.
More than four years after Haile was killed, the Georgia case reached a formal conclusion in court.
On August 28, 2026, the two defendants entered guilty pleas to resolve the charges against them.
Abdi and Haji-Sufi, both 24 years old at the time of their pleas, admitted to multiple felony offenses.
Both defendants pleaded guilty to two violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
They also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.
In addition, both men entered guilty pleas to possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Each defendant received a 40-year sentence from the court.
Haji-Sufi was ordered to serve 25 years of his sentence in prison.
Abdi was ordered to serve 30 years behind bars.
The remainder of both men’s 40-year terms will be served under the specific conditions imposed by the court.
