A 59-year-old Texas man has received a 25-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to evading arrest with a vehicle.
Tracy Hass of Trenton entered the guilty plea in connection with a high-speed pursuit.
In October 2025, police initiated the encounter by attempting to stop a vehicle.
Officers tried to make the stop because the vehicle matched the description of one believed to have been involved in a burglary.
But Hass refused to pull over.
Authorities said Hass fled down county roads during the pursuit.
He then drove through private property before abandoning the vehicle.
People at the property identified Hass as the driver.

And investigators quickly learned that he already had an active arrest warrant out of Grayson County.
Deputies later tracked Hass down to a residence in Trenton.
Authorities said he ran out the back of the home before being arrested.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and the surrounding area reportedly uncovered tools and equipment connected to several suspected burglaries.
Many of those recovered items have since been returned to their owners.
Yet related cases remain under active investigation across Cooke, Fannin and Grayson counties.
Prosecutors said Hass’ lengthy criminal history played a major role in seeking the enhanced sentence.
What began as an attempted traffic stop turned into a high-speed vehicle chase.
It escalated into a pursuit on foot.
It ended with a 25-year term in prison.
