“I ADMITTED IT ON TAPE”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, INVESTIGATORS SAY 60-YEAR-OLD BRYAN LAAS CONFESSED TO KILLING HIS NEIGHBOR DURING A RECORDED INTERVIEW… AND HE HAS NOW BEEN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON WITH PAROLE ELIGIBILITY AFTER 25 YEARS.
Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Joseph McNamara sentenced Bryan Laas on Wednesday.
Laas is a 60-year-old Toledo man.
He received a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
The sentence was handed down after Laas entered an Alford plea to murder last month.
On Feb. 16, his neighbor was found dead inside her residence.
Police identified the victim as 63-year-old Julie Miller.
She was discovered inside her south Toledo apartment.
Police said Miller had suffered multiple blows to the head.
Her death was ruled a homicide.

And investigators said Laas later admitted to killing Miller during a recorded interview.
The murder charge carried parole eligibility after 15 years.
But a repeat violent offender specification added another 10 years to that mandatory term.
As part of the plea agreement, four other charges were dismissed.
Those dismissed counts were aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
Charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence were also dismissed.
Then the court awarded Laas credit for 191 days already served.
His neighbor was found beaten to death inside her own apartment.
He will now spend at least 25 years behind bars.
Only then can he be considered for parole.
