A 28-year-old Virginia man has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty to an armed robbery at a convenience store near Parksley.
Noah Christopher Lamphier, of New Church, resolved the case by entering a guilty plea to four separate offenses.
Lamphier admitted to robbery.
He admitted to maliciously shooting into an occupied building.
He also admitted to using a firearm.
And he admitted to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Authorities said the incident took place on the night of April 2.
Lamphier entered the Royal Farms convenience store around 11 p.m.
He pulled out a gun.
Then he fired the weapon at a window.

He demanded money from a cashier.
Lamphier then ran away from the scene.
Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage from the store.
They identified Lamphier in the video by the tattoos on his hands.
When the robbery occurred, Lamphier was already on probation for earlier convictions.
Those previous convictions involved malicious injury, disarming an officer, and obstruction of justice.
Lamphier could have faced up to 38 years in prison for the robbery and weapons charges.
But a plea agreement resulted in 10 years of active prison time.
Eight of those 10 years were mandatory minimums tied to the firearm charges.
Following his release from prison, Lamphier will be placed on supervised probation for five years.
And he will remain on good behavior for 28 years.
