“YOU CANNOT ESCAPE ME”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY 51-YEAR-OLD DAVID MORENO SHOT HIS ESTRANGED WIFE MULTIPLE TIMES OUTSIDE A FRESNO RESTAURANT JUST TWO DAYS BEFORE A SCHEDULED COURT HEARING… AND HE IS NOW JAILED ON SUSPICION OF MURDER.
On August 30, 2026, a woman was shot multiple times outside a Denny’s in Fresno, California.
Deputies responded to the restaurant located near Avenue 18½ and Golden State Boulevard.
Upon arrival, deputies found a woman who had been shot multiple times.
Deputies provided lifesaving measures at the scene.
The victim was transported to a hospital.
At the hospital, she was pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified by her family as 38-year-old Brittney Harris.
Authorities said Harris and 51-year-old David Moreno had been eating inside the restaurant before they walked outside.
Moreno was her estranged husband.
Investigators said Moreno allegedly approached Harris after she got into her vehicle.
He allegedly shot her multiple times.
Investigators said Moreno then fled the scene in a white Toyota RAV4.
After the shooting, investigators began searching for Moreno and the white RAV4 seen leaving the area.
Court records later revealed Harris had an active restraining order against Moreno at the time of the shooting.
The couple reportedly had a history of restraining orders.
Most recently, Harris had alleged ongoing verbal, mental and emotional abuse.

Yet court records showed prior exceptions had been granted during the proceedings.
As part of the restraining-order proceedings, Harris had previously asked the court to allow limited exceptions so Moreno could attend her father’s funeral.
She had also asked the court to allow him to participate in child-custody exchanges.
Harris and Moreno were scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 1, 2026.
That court appearance was set for two days after her death.
Authorities tracked the suspect across the region following the shooting.
Approximately four hours later, authorities located Moreno near Highway 41 and Manning Avenue.
That location was about 36 miles from the restaurant.
He was arrested at approximately 3:45 p.m.
Moreno was booked into the Madera County Jail on suspicion of murder.
He was being held on $1 million bail.
Harris had recently graduated from Merced College’s nurse assistant program.
She worked in the college’s counseling center.
And she was taking classes with plans to apply to the college’s Registered Nurse program.
Her children described her as a strong and independent woman.
They said she made sure everyone around her was okay, even when she was not.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
