A Texas relative was arrested after four members of the same family were found shot to death Sunday in San Benito, authorities said.
Cameron County Sheriff Manuel Treviño identified the suspect as Joel Christian Pacheco Maldonado, according to officials.
Cameron County Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to the 32000 block of Road 819, according to investigators.
Responding investigators discovered three victims deceased inside a residence at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. A fourth victim was found dead along the roadway outside the home, deputies said.
Treviño said Maldonado is related to all four of the victims, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities have not publicly identified the four victims or disclosed their exact relationship to the accused relative, deputies said.
Investigators also have not released details regarding what may have led to the killings, according to the sheriff’s office. No motive has been announced in the case, officials said.
Maldonado was taken into custody in connection with the killings and booked into the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center, officials said.
Jail records list a charge of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons against the suspect, according to detention logs. The investigation remains ongoing, deputies said.
Maldonado is being held while awaiting an arraignment scheduled for Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
