“YOU ARE NOT TAKING ME IN”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, DEPUTIES SAY A 64-YEAR-OLD GUADALUPE COUNTY LANDLORD BROKE INTO A TENANT’S HOME, FOUGHT AN OFFICER, AND TRIED TO TAKE HIS TASER BEFORE FLEEING… AND HE IS NOW WANTED ON MULTIPLE ARREST WARRANTS.
A 64-year-old Guadalupe County landlord remains wanted after a confrontation over an alleged break-in turned violent on Sunday, according to deputies.
Authorities identified the landlord as James Waugh.
Deputies said Waugh was accused of breaking into a tenant’s home while the tenant was away.
A deputy responded to the residence.
Upon arriving, the deputy spotted Waugh walking away from the home.
Investigators say Waugh then ran back inside the residence.
The deputy moved inside to arrest him.
As the deputy attempted the arrest, a second person stepped in.
Authorities identified that person as 55-year-old Toya Robinson.
Robinson allegedly intervened and assaulted the deputy.
A physical struggle ensued between the officer and the suspects.
During the struggle, deputies say Waugh attempted to take the officer’s Taser.
At the same time, Robinson allegedly used the cord from the deputy’s radio to choke him.
The deputy managed to break free from the assault.

Waugh allegedly fled the scene during the physical altercation.
Waugh has not been located.
The deputy was later treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
Robinson was arrested by law enforcement.
Authorities charged Robinson with aggravated assault on a public servant.
Robinson was also charged with interference with public duties.
Waugh is now wanted on multiple warrants.
Waugh faces a warrant for attempting to take a weapon from an officer.
He is also wanted on a warrant for evading arrest or detention.
And he faces an additional warrant for resisting arrest, search, or transport.
Law enforcement launched a search to locate Waugh.
Police used K-9 teams during the operation.
Officers also deployed drones to search near the Guadalupe River.
Yet search teams did not find him.
Waugh remains at large.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
