An Ohio man intentionally struck another man with his car after learning the man had been involved in a physical altercation with his wife, prosecutors said.
Jason Chadwick, 48, is an Ohio resident.
On Aug. 27, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to respond to a reported assault in Batavia Township, authorities said.
Deputies were initially responding to the assault call when they learned the situation had escalated, police said. Someone had been struck by a gray Audi, according to investigators.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Steven Ballard lying in the grass, authorities said.
Investigators subsequently identified Chadwick as the driver of the Audi, prosecutors said.

The defendant allegedly admitted hitting Ballard after learning about the earlier altercation involving his wife, according to prosecutors.
Investigators also obtained video of the incident, according to prosecutors.
The footage shows the initial altercation involving Ballard and Chadwick’s wife, prosecutors said.
Chadwick then arrived and argued with Ballard, according to prosecutors. The video then allegedly shows the Audi driver striking Ballard with his vehicle, prosecutors said.
Chadwick’s alleged actions endangered the entire neighborhood, Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve said. Authorities were fortunate no one else was injured or killed, Tekulve said.
If convicted on both counts, the 48-year-old faces 8 to 12 years in prison, according to prosecutors.
Chadwick was indicted Thursday by a Clermont County grand jury on two counts of felonious assault, prosecutors said.
