A 30-year-old Tennessee roommate was arrested after allegedly pouring gasoline on his coworker and setting him on fire during an argument over money, police said.
Connor Johnathon Mulvaney, 30, lived with his roommate, Robert Rodgers, at their Madison home, where both men worked for the same company.
The two coworkers had been drinking outside the residence with Rodgers’ 17-year-old son before an argument started, according to police.
The dispute allegedly began over money Rodgers owed to Mulvaney for a recent job, police said.
Mulvaney punched Rodgers and knocked him to the ground, according to police. Then the situation allegedly escalated even further, police said.

Mulvaney is accused of pouring gasoline on Rodgers and setting him on fire while threatening to kill him, according to police.
Rodgers survived the attack, according to police. He was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
Rodgers’ 17-year-old son allegedly witnessed the attack on his father, according to police.
Mulvaney allegedly threatened the teenager and another family member if the youth contacted law enforcement, police said.
The suspect also damaged thousands of dollars worth of Rodgers’ work equipment, according to police.
Mulvaney was arrested and faces charges including attempted criminal homicide, domestic assault, interference with an emergency call and felony vandalism, police said.
