David Alejandro Gomez Sanchez stands accused of burglarizing residential properties across wine country.
The 44-year-old Napa resident allegedly stole jewelry from local homes and re-sold the stolen property.
Officials are currently probing a string of brazen burglaries dating back years.
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, Gomez climbed into residences in Napa and Pleasant Hill.
Investigators stated that he made entry through unlocked doors and windows.
Once inside, he allegedly targeted high-end personal belongings.
He is accused of stealing “expensive handbags, jewelry and jewelry boxes,” according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that the suspect then pawned the items.
The suspect is a Napa resident, according to local officials.
Local officials stated that Gomez is a construction professional.
He has worked on “multiple homes” in the area, according to authorities.
Sheriff’s office records indicate that he has worked on “multiple homes” across the North Bay.
Detectives began linking the incidents after observing similarities among several reports in a single neighborhood.
“Napa County Sheriff’s Office (NSO) detectives noticed a pattern in four recent residential burglaries occurring in the Hagen Road area of Napa. The victims stated their jewelry had been stolen from their homes but with no evidence of a forced entry,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
All four of those reported burglaries occurred in the Hagen Road area of Napa.
The victims reported that their jewelry had been taken from inside their homes.

None of those four homes showed any evidence of forced entry.
Law enforcement officials believe the 44-year-old Napa resident could have been thieving from local homes as far back as 2024.
Investigators are now asking the public for tips on more burglaries in the area.
But the string of break-ins came to an end following an interrupted attempt.
The suspect was busted after a failed entry into a home on Hillcrest Drive, according to authorities.
Deputies arrested Gomez on Aug. 21.
Following the arrest, sheriffs searched the vehicle belonging to the suspect.
Sheriffs found stolen jewelry inside Gomez’s truck.
And sheriffs said he admitted to participating in the burglaries upon his arrest on Aug. 21.
Stolen watches, jewelry, bags and other items were recovered by police.
Photos shared on social media by law enforcement show a collection of earrings, necklaces, watches, designer handbags and jewelry boxes that were recovered.
Yet Gomez entered a formal denial to the accusations in court.
He pleaded not guilty to 12 felony charges connected to the alleged burglaries.
Gomez remained held at Napa County jail as of Monday, according to the Napa Valley Register.
They had the jewelry in the truck.
They had the admissions upon arrest.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
