The murder trial of Tyler McCain has been pushed back again.
Proceedings are now scheduled for February 2027.
This postponement marks the third delay in the case.
McCain is charged with first-degree murder.
The charge comes in connection with the 2024 disappearance of his wife, Nikki Saelee McCain.
Her body has never been found.
Shasta County sheriff’s detectives have stated their theory regarding the alleged crime.
Detectives have said they believe McCain killed Nikki to prevent her from testifying against him in a domestic violence case.
Then came a ruling that disrupted the existing court calendar.

At an Aug. 10 hearing, Judge Adam B. Ryan granted a motion that vacated the previously scheduled Aug. 25 jury trial.
And McCain’s representation is pushing for another major shift.
McCain’s attorney, Michael Borges, has said he wants the case moved out of Shasta County.
Borges pointed to the amount of publicity surrounding the case as the reason.
New dates have now been established on the court docket.
The new trial readiness conference is set for Feb. 17, 2027.
The jury trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 23.
Yet significant legal hurdles remain for the prosecution.
McCain has been charged, not convicted.
Prosecutors will still have to prove a murder case without Nikki’s body ever being recovered.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
