A 31-year-old Vermont man will spend the rest of his life in federal prison after receiving two consecutive life sentences for a double murder, prosecutors said.
Theodore Bland, 31, is from Vermont, according to court records.
Bland admitted to killing two 21-year-old Massachusetts men during a 2023 drug-related robbery, federal authorities said.
The victims were Jahim Solomon of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Eric White of Chicopee, Massachusetts, both 21, according to authorities.
Bland walked into a bedroom inside a Lowell, Vermont mobile home in broad daylight, prosecutors said. He fatally shot both men in front of multiple witnesses, according to court documents.
The motive for the fatal double shooting was robbery, according to federal authorities.
Bland knew that both men possessed cocaine base and fentanyl, prosecutors said.
He killed them to obtain the drugs for his own distribution operation, authorities said. Bland also stole a firearm from the victims, according to prosecutors.

Bland later bragged about the fatal shootings, according to authorities.
He used the stolen items to convince others to help move the victims’ bodies to a wooded area, authorities said.
The defendant was not finished after moving the bodies, prosecutors said. Bland later traded one of the stolen firearms to a drug supplier for additional cocaine base and fentanyl that he intended to distribute, authorities said.
At the time of the murders, Bland was already on conditions of release in a separate armed-assault case, according to records.
In April, Bland pleaded guilty to murder involving a firearm during and in relation to drug trafficking, prosecutors said.
He also pleaded guilty to additional federal drug and firearm charges, court records show.
On Monday, the judge handed Bland two consecutive life sentences, imposing one life sentence for each victim, prosecutors said.
The judge also ordered Bland to pay $12,504.92 in restitution to the Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services, records show.
